Each year, pastors and catechists face the challenge of welcoming new Catholics into the Church, yet few resources are available to help them introduce the Faith in a comprehensive way.

We’ve teamed with the Dominican Friars and the Thomistic Institute in Washington, D.C. to develop Credo, a groundbreaking OCIA video program that carefully teaches catechumens the key tenets of the Faith. The accompanying guide book walks candidates through the course, introduces them to the treasures of the Catholic faith, and is a valuable reference during their formation and beyond.

Credo includes sessions for Mystagogy, the often neglected period of discovery after catechumens are received into the Church. Plus, powerful interviews from recent converts allow catechumens to hear from their brothers and sisters who have already completed their journey through the Church’s doors.

This complete and customizable 36 session program works with any level of current OCIA engagement. Use it as a supplement or make it the core of your OCIA.

The Credo Prayer Book is a companion piece to the OCIA program Credo and has been compiled to introduce catechumens and candidates to the wealth of Catholic devotional prayers. It offers a representative sampling of the most common vocal prayers said by Catholics. While it was originally composed for new Catholics, it can certainly be used by any Catholic to assist and nurture one’s prayer life.

Following the prayers, a brief compendium of various important lists and other information can be found, such as the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the Precepts of the Church, and others.

    From a Catechist and Convert

Posted by Lucinda Nau on Aug 20th 2024

I have been facilitating this wonderful program for 2 years. We conduct our OCIA classes on Zoom and the format is perfect for watching the videos together followed by discussion. The testimonies from the converts always create the deepest discussions, as the participants in OCIA usually have the same feelings and reactions to the teachings. Thank you for creating such a thorough and meaningful program for new Catholics, and even the seasoned who want to grow in their Catholic faith!

Very thorough and systematic. The speakers are excellent. The witness videos are less useful though. Thank you!

    Excellent Program

Posted by KIM R. on Nov 12th 2022

I am attending RCIA classes at my local cathedral. The classes are excellent and a good way to begin the journey in Catholicism. I also wanted more instruction to deepen my spiritual journey and I have found that in the Credo program. Credo provokes more questions as I complete the readings and also inspires me to seek more answers in the spiritual teachings. Thank you!

    Great program!

I was looking for something to provide a good framework for our RCIA program. We have a team that helps and some are better than others at teaching and explaining the material. The Credo program helps support the program and the team.

Very pleased. We had our first class last week on Chapter One - it was excellent. We also had the video with it. Looking forward to Chapter 2 this Tuesday.

    More than Intellectual Formation

Posted by Rodolfo B. on Aug 30th 2022

The lessons and the discussion questions help teach our OCIA not only the intellectual tradition of the church but also teach them how to be good Catholics and form a close relationship with Christ.
