Born in 1816 in Brittany, France, Sister Mary of Saint Peter lost her mother at age 12. Soon after entering the Carmelite convent at Tours in 1839 at age 23, she began to receive remarkable and intimate communications from Our Lord, Who told her of His great distressed over the evil actions and blasphemous declarations of the Marxist revolutionaries of the time. He also bemoaned the indifference to and profanation of Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation of even Christians. These errors, begun in Sister Mary's time, have grown monstrously ingrained in our present fearful age.
But the Lord provided Sister Mary over a century and a half ago with the means of fighting these catastrophes and making solemn reparation: devotion to His Holy Face. In addition, He gave her a prayer, a "Golden Arrow" fit to pierce His Heart delightfully, in reparation for the painful "poison arrows" of blasphemy launched by so many poor sinners, even children.
The Golden Arrow tells of both the life of Sister Mary of Saint Peter and her life's work: the devotion, granted to her by Jesus Himself, to His Holy Face. Approved by Pope Leo XIII and promoted by St. Therese of Lisieux half a century later, the devotion to the Holy Face may be the single most important devotion of our time that still remains relatively unknown.
In our age so sorely afflicted by the same grievous errors as Sister Mary of Saint Peter's, learn to adore Our Blessed Savior's wounded Face, so as to make reparation for the sacrileges and blasphemies of our decadent age.

Most Incomprehensible and Ineffable Name of God
Be always Praised, Blessed, Loved, Adored and Glorified,
In Heaven, on Earth and in Hell,
By all the Creatures of God,

about a beautiful devotion
In these days of blasphemy, we need a devotion that reminds us of the admirable qualities of the Name of God and His Holy Face. This book explains the Holy Face revelations. Giving this book to others is one way to spread the devotion.

Haven't finished reading it but am always looking for a moment to pick it up again. I am really enjoying it. I already knew of the Golden Arrow prayer and follow The Holy Face Devotion on Facebook.

The Golden Arrow
Wonderful book of the life of Sr. Mary of St. Peter whom Christ dictated the "Golden Arrow Prayer" which is a prayer of Praise and Reparation for those who take God's name in vain. After receiving this prayer, Sister Mary of St. Peter was given a vision in which she saw the Sacred Heart of Jesus delightfully wounded by this "Golden Arrow" as torrents of graces streamed from It for the conversion of sinners. The prayer takes less than 20 seconds to recite and if said devoutly pleases Jesus very much! On several occasions in 1847 Jesus warned of communism and gave her ammunition (prayers) to combat the evil forces against the church.

If you have a devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus, this book is a must read. The Golden Arrow prayer itself is the core prayer of the Holy Face devotion. And, even if you don;t yet have this devotion, I strongly encourage you to read this book. Sr. Marie of St. Peter is an extraordinary and beautiful soul. Very inspiring.

Lenten Retreat
Our parish had a lenten retreat from the Missionaries of Saint John the Baptist. Wonderful preaching and the priest covered A LOT over the entire week. One of the Venerables that he brought up several times was Ven. Sr. MARY OF Saint Peter and this book. I ordered it and a few months later started reading it on God's perfect timing. This book is exactly what I needed to deal with someone that blasphemous decries Our Lords name. Simple writing and power house prayers of reparation. Highly recommend

Flabbergasted I hadn;t heard of Sr. Mary of St. Peter before now. Having read St. Therese;s Letters, Story of a Soul, and as much else as I could regarding the Martin family, I can readily see the influence this devotion had on her thought. Devotion to the Holy Face is a beautiful, needed devotion for our time.

It is both a beautiful book and story and so timely for our age; the prayer for reparation of the crimes by Communists, Blasphemers and Profaners as well as the Golden Arrow Prayer are especially appreciated.
