Wonderful Translation
I love the Douay Rhiems translation, and this edition is beautiful. The cover is flexible like leather and seems very durable. I also like the color, not too red, more wine. It's a great size to carry with you too, and usually other people in the classes I attend have other translations, so this adds variety, and in my experience it has helped me understand the subtle meaning of some passages better. The language is different but I'venever had a problem understanding it. I thought the translation might be similar to the KJV, but It's totally different since this is a translation of the Latin Vulgate whereas KJV is a translation of the Greek Septuagint. Every serious Bible student should have this version as a compliment to other translations. It really adds depth to study comparatively.

Very happy. Likely the best constructed bible I own. Beautiful to hold. Quality leather, clear font, ivory pages make it easy on the eyes. Always wanted a D-R Bible for my studies. Unexpectedly I appreciate the preservation of the original names of the books "The Prophecy of Jonas" for the Book of Jonah, for example along with The Book of Kings consisting of 4 books. Quality art, maps and unique notes and indexes. Connects the contemporary reader to our spiritual forefathers in a unique way.
