Rediscover the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Mass of the Ages. This richly- illustrated introduction to the Latin Mass for readers young and old provides a thorough sampling of Latin text from the missal with English translations. It also provides a look behind the veil of what we can see with our eyes, depicting the meeting of Heaven and earth at each Mass, as Pope Saint Gregory the Great stated: “The heavens open and multitudes of angels come to assist in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.” The beauty of the language, the reverent movements, and the salvation made possible through Jesus’s penitential offering to the Father are all depicted lovingly within these pages.

For those unfamiliar but curious about the Latin Mass, this book can ease them into experiencing it without feeling overwhelmed. Even if you’ve only attended the Novus Ordo, the knowledge of the Latin Mass you’ll get from this book will deepen your understanding of the Novus Ordo. For children who can sit still but need help to be fully involved at the Mass, Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus will guide them along visually and verbally.

Completely gorgeous illustrations! The side by side combo of Latin and English makes for a wonderful resource for young and old Catholics alike- helping us all to better understand the universal language of the Church and the mysteries of the Mass. I love the rich details in the illustrations, borders, and backgrounds!

    Stunning

Posted by Grace on Jun 16th 2023

The artwork is spectacular, I really felt it transport me into the spiritual view and while I was standing my living room previewing it i felt like I was watching the Mass from the sidelines. It explains whats happening visually so even for my small children that can't read the words they may still follow along and unserstand the great Mystery The Latin is perfect, a simple but complete translation- as someone who has grown up and practically memorized the Mass prayers. I love that each illustration mimics the altar cards with the ornate frame art.

A beautiful visual guide for children attending Latin mass

Posted by Theresa Wurts on Jun 1st 2023

This is a delightful resource for parents to give their children to help them better understand the Latin mass. The visual depictions are not only beautifully drawn but also very informative. Children (and adults, for that matter) will be able to follow along using the visual guides and also get a peek at the beauty unfolding that we are not able to literally see. Highly recommend for anyone who attends TLM or for anyone who is curious about it!

Excellent for Children Preparing to Receive First Holy Communion!

Posted by Christine Peters on Jun 1st 2023

One of my favorite features of this book is the presence of angels and saints on several pages of the Eucharistic Prayer. Seeing these illustrations helps my 2nd and 3rd grade Sac Prep students picture this invisible reality. In class, they read in their textbook, "At Mass we are surrounded by the angels and saints in Heaven, and join with them in worshipping God." They see them beautifully illustrated in this Latin Missal. Other favorite aspects of this book are: the faces of Jesus, the priest and altar boys; the intricate borders on every page; and the "Communicants through the ages" at the Communion rail. I highly recommend this book to families who attend the Latin Mass to help their children preparing to receive Holy Communion better understand what happens at Mass - that we can't see.
