“As for me, I’d begun my reading about the torments of the damned seen by Saint Frances of Rome; it makes me tremble. I don’t like this kind of reading material, but it can be very beneficial. I talked to your father about it all morning, and he wanted to take the book to his Pavilion.”

—St. Zélie Martin

Learn from one of the Church’s great mystics, Saint Frances of Rome. In this book, she narrates her visions to her spiritual director, Canon Giovanni Matteoni. He records her visions of the geography of hell and the state of limbo. She describes the punishments for various sins such as perverts, usurers, blasphemers, traitors, murderers, apostates, schismatics, incestuous people, witches and more. She also talks about the particular torments due to the seven deadly sins and the punishments for theft, dishonoring parents, breaking vows of chastity and selling daughters into prostitution.

In addition to these visions of hell, Saint Frances also shares her visions of purgatory and heaven. She talks about the condition of souls in purgatory and the glories of heaven and so much more. Her visions will provide you with rich meditations on the realities of the Four Last Things.

The Visions of Saint Frances of Rome: Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven Revealed

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Shirt and simple read of the beautiful and harrowing visions of St. Frances. This is very reminiscent of Dante's Divine Comedy which I would also recommend to any reader that enjoyed this book.

The Visions of Saint Frances of Rome

I look forward to new translations from Fr. Robert Nixon, OSB, the way I used to look forward to new Beatles albums. Visions and private revelations, while not the official teaching of the Church, can provide fruitful food for thought. If scholars run out of topics, they could write a comparison of the views of saints and mystics as found in their visions and private revelations. It is my impression that there would be surprisingly few major contradictions.

I wish everyone would read this book! It will change your life! Hell is more terrifying than I could ever imagine! This book has given me so much insight into our next and eternal life. It has opened my eyes even more to the terrific pains of hell. I want to pray for all souls that they will repent and be saved from this awful place! It makes me appreciate my Catholic faith even more and gives me an aching to achieve holiness and a deeper trust in God’s love and mercy.

Very enlightening an, at the same time, very frightening. Details the dangers of committing mortal sin and the consequences thereof. A good incentive for not offending God.

    St. Francis of Rome

Overall this is a pretty quick book to read through. My only critique most of the foot notes could have been left out. Whoever wrote them seems to disagree with what's being commented on at the time as the way the church/culture used to believe. Seemingly trying to make the work more politically correct. Easy enough fix just don't read the footnotes

THE VISIONS OF SAINT FRANCES OF ROME

How AMAZING! Nothing escapes God's timing! Today, on this, the very Feast Day of Saint Frances of Rome, March 9, 2024, I received in the mail the brand new publication by TAN Books, a new release of THE VISIONS OF SAINT FRANCES OF ROME. I absolutely know it was delivered today because although I remain homebound, a friend who came by brought in for me yesterday's mail and then today's arrival as well. This relatively small book (which can easily be tucked into a purse or satchel) is the first time her visions have been translated into English! Thrilled by what I saw as a coordination by Heaven for the book's arrival, I immediately began, here and there, turning the pages and reading certain Chapters -- until the pains in my chest grew so strong, I had to put the book down, realizing I must read it in smaller doses! I have a strong heart and there is nothing wrong with my heart -- but what you will read in those pages is more powerful than whatever you can ever conjure up in your imagination about Eternity! Unequivocally I can say: the book is life changing and all should read it! I wish I could buy each of you the book but I cannot. However, I strongly urge you to go ahead now, at TAN Books, and purchase your copy because it will surely change your eternal destination.
