Fr. John Laux's readable text on Church history is a classic for high school students and adults.
Church History succinctly but thoroughly covers 2,000-plus years of balanced and relevant history, including our Lord's life and ministry, the birth of the Catholic Church, Roman persecutions, martyrs, saints, Church councils, heresies, schisms, Crusades, the Hundred Years War, Protestantism, the Reformation, the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, the Oxford Movement, Vatican I, and more.
Students will gain insight into the Church's quest to spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ throughout the ages.

Every Catholic Should Read This Book
So much nonsense (not to mention outright falsehood) about the Church;s history has been manufactured and published that you owe it to yourself to know the truth. Father John Laux (of blessed memory) pulls no punches; he tells the truth, including periods of history during which the Church struggled. I am extremely particular about the books that my family uses for home education and I have my own online school where I choose only the most reliable and accurate texts. I use all of Father Laux;s books; however, this volume holds pride of place because I use it in four of my classes so that students can learn about the development of the Church as they learn about every other subject. I am glad to see the book available in electronic format as the small print in the paperback version can be a bit challenging to read for those with visual impairments.

Good Book!
It's a brief introduction about the Church History. I like it because I can have a general grasp about what happened in certain period of time and maybe able to research more for certain details later. It's a good introduction book. Unfortunately the print of the words are not in good quality. It looks like the printer ran out of the ink.

Straightforward Explanation of our Church
This history is a foundational learning tool for all ages. The text setup lends itself to reading a paragraph or page or chapter as the reader has time. However, once I started I found it hard to put down.
