After a week of hearing ghostly noises, a man is visited in his home by the spirit of his mother, dead for three decades. She reproaches him for his dissolute life and begs him to have Masses said in her name. Then she lays her hand on his sleeve, leaving an indelible burn mark, and departs...

A Lutheran minister, no believer in Purgatory, is the puzzled recipient of repeated visitations from "demons" who come to him seeking prayer, consolation, and refuge in his little German church. But pity for the poor spirits overcomes the man's skepticism, and he marvels at what kind of departed souls could belong to Christ and yet suffer still...

Hungry Souls recounts these stories and many other trustworthy and Church-verified accounts of earthly visitations from the dead in Purgatory. Accompanying these accounts are images from the "Museum of Purgatory" in Rome, which contains relics of encounters with the Holy Souls, including evidence of handprints burned into clothing or books and burn marks that cannot be explained by natural means or duplicated by artificial ones.

This riveting account of the many apparitions of souls in Purgatory will demonstrate the importance of praying for the dead and repentance here on earth. You will read and re-read the stories of the realities of Purgatory and the souls who suffer there.

This book is meant for every Catholic; by reading Hungry Souls, you too will encounter the real stories of souls in need of your prayers and be encouraged to avoid even venial sins at all costs.

    a must for casual Christians

a must for casual Christians. the photos, stories, facts, and theology are much needed for a world dominated faux theologians like francis. rather, it will wake anyone up to the need for holiness on this side of the sod. a beautiful masterwork.

    excellent book

This was well written, with many references throughout. I had no idea there was a such thing as a purgatory museum before reading this! It was reassuring to read that the Church has investigated the experiences reported in this book. After learning so much more about the souls' experiences in purgatory, I am left with a renewed resolve to pray and sacrifice more to help them.

    Facts don’t lie on purgatory.

Posted by Don Meccia on Aug 11th 2023

We have read this book and recommended it to countless people because of its incredible sincerity and the facts presented. If someone has the time and money, giving the book away to someone who is having some faith doubts, would be very powerful. This is one of the greatest evidentiary books, ever written on the very troubling subject of souls who are not in hell and yet not certainly prepared for heaven. The FACTUAL pictures alone are worth the price. It also some presents some very strong arguments for those who doubt the most basic of all Catholic theology. This is because it leans on the absolute perfection of God and the perfection that every one of us needs to be in his presence eternally. They just aren’t enough words to describe how important and wonderful this book is. Please don’t be scared! May God bless the publishers of this book, and it may save many many souls, if people just share it.

    Hungry Souls

Excellent book. One of my favorites. In my journey as a protestant (this ended thanks to Most Holy Mother Mary, who brought me back), I used to believe all paranormal activity was diabolic. How wrong! This book is a jewel for me. I highly recommend to read it.

    Captivating

I read this after I read a book specifically about the teaching of purgatory. It really helped drive home what I learned. I initially read the Biblical Basis for Purgatory by John Salza.
