Overview
The Christ: A Faithful Picture from the Gospels helps students encounter Jesus Christ through the four Gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each evangelist presents the same Lord with a distinct emphasis, giving readers a fuller and more faithful picture of who Jesus is, what He taught, and how He continues to call souls to Himself.
Taught by Fr. Alfred McBride, O.Praem., this course explores the unique spiritual vision of each Gospel. Matthew presents Jesus as the Teacher of the Kingdom of God. Mark emphasizes discipleship and the call to follow Christ with love and fidelity. Luke reveals the humanity, warmth, and compassion of Jesus. John proclaims the divine glory of the Word made flesh, radiant with the light of the Resurrection.
Together, these four Gospel portraits reveal Jesus as Teacher, Master, Savior, and Son of God. Through clear teaching, rich biblical insight, and structured lectures, this course helps students come to know Christ not as a distant figure of history, but as the living Lord who is near to us, as near as our own heartbeat.
